Lyrical Life

Everyday tales of a lyrical life

In Only the Night

2011-02-272011-02-28 by Steve

T’was late night, close to 10:00
When a tiny scream I heard
And as I turned our Cat came in
With a Bat! Not a bird..

She brings us a present ’bout every day
Lizards, most days we see
Tonight in she walks with her prey
A winged, flapping, screaming bat wanting to be free

But, still, it was a Bat!

“No man is great enough or wise enough for any of us to surrender our destiny to. The only way in which anyone can lead us is to restore to us the belief in our own guidance.” — Henry Miller
